நான் கடலைச் சந்திக்கச் சென்றபோது
பிறந்த மேனியாளாய், சூரியக்குளியலில்
இருந்ததைக் கண்டேன்.
அவ்வாழியின் நிர்வாணம்
எதிர்பாராததாயினும் அழகு
பொருந்திய கவர்ச்சி.
மனித நிர்வாணம்
இனிமையற்றதும், கோரமானதுமாகும்
இயல்பற்றது, அநாகரீகம் மேலும் அந்தரங்கம்.
நிர்வாணமே வேண்டுமென்றால்,
அது கடலின் கடல்களைப்போல் இருக்கட்டும்
ஓர் அலங்காரமான நிர்வாணம்.

When
I went to meet the sea
I
found her stark naked,
Sunbathing.
The
sea’s nudity
Was
unexpected but beautiful,
Fitting
and appealing.
Human
nakedness is
Most
hideous and unpleasant,
Un-natural,
barbaric and confidential.
If
nakedness must be,
It
has to be like the sea’s of Sea
a
sophisticated nudity.
